Little Boys and Hikes

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I Heart Faces offered up photojournalism this week for their challenge. Our definition of Photojournalism for the sake of this challenge: Using an image (or images) to tell a story.

Looking through hundreds of pictures what I found interesting turned out to be how many stood alone rather than tell a story.

I suppose a shot of leaving the truck and then returning to the truck from this hike would have book ended this collage nicely.

However, I found W.W.’s interests on the hike told a different story.

Sweet Shot – This loaf’s on me!

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

My Dad took this shot. Sure looks sweet to me. Nothing like raisin bread in the morning.

Oddly enough it reminded me of Vietnam. Of all the types of breads in the world I never realized french bread dominated them all in Vietnam.

The long loaves here reminded me of freshly baked french bread crumbling in my hands in the early morning. Someday I’ll have a chance to experience that again.

Blue Monday – Texas Rangers

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Saturday we took a road trip to Las Golodrinas with the little ones and Grandma.

W.W. ran all over, in and out of the adobe buildings, racing past displays demonstrating how to make yarn, weave blankets, and dry herbs.

When he hit the gentleman with the swords, he stopped and listened attentively.

He also paused to watch the Pasofino horses dance in the arena. However, none of them had blue on.

So here is my son with his Texas Rangers hat, which is really Dad’s senior league baseball team.
