B & W – Hummingbird

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Over the holiday weekend I managed to squeeze in a hike with the little kids.

We drove out to Malpais for a 1.4 mile Nature Walk.

With E.C. strapped on my back in the pack, a word to the wise, Nature Walk equaled too much talking and not enough hiking.

We split from the rest of the very large group at the top of the rise as standing around listening to a very interesting spiel about geology just destroyed my shoulders.

My complaining about that extra 35 pounds or so aside, W.W. and I had a pleasant hike.

Afterward we shared our lunch with hummingbirds buzzing pleasantly overhead.

Mosaic Monday – Yellow

Monday, July 12th, 2010

This week feels like it has started off a little rough for me.

The Little Red Head has evil plans that involve attempting to stay up late at night and wake me up every 45 minutes. I think this tactic results from the fact I am taking a 4 week summer class which does not get me home until 6:30 PM. He’s actively revolting against missing out on 2 hours of family time he should be getting. *sigh*

Yellow felt like such a cheerful color so I filled my mosaic with it this time.

For Little Red House and Mosaic Monday.

Red, White, Blue

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Last week really got me down.

Over the weekend I tried hard to get back into the swing. At the 4th of July Parade I took lots of pictures and decided to participate in Mosaic Monday for a change.

The classic car line up in the parade went on forever. If the photographer standing next to me had been a little more polite capturing them all would have gone better. She even whacked with me her lens and no apology.

Just because my camera is smaller than yours is no excuse to be rude.

W.W. loved the parade and the candy. That made up for rude people in the crowd.
