Taggy Blanket

Ages ago, Stacy posted a tutorial about how to make a taggy blanket.

Ok, maybe it was months ago.

Hmmm, it could have been a year.

I saved the tutorial back before E.C. arrived June 9, 2009. That should tell you something. I bought the fabric and the ribbons with my Mom probably in May.

Last Saturday with the assistance of my Mom, my sewing machine may be set up, but W.W. finds it far more fun to play hide and seek with the needle then allow me time to use it.

We pinned, basted, stitched, ironed, and turned it right side out resulting in an oversized taggy blanket for E.C. Not the best shot, taken with my faithful camera phone, but definitely a moment of accomplishment.

E.C. immediately started sucking on the taggies. With the third tooth almost in I think we managed to get it completed in the nick of time.

  2. It hit me when I saw your post, keep seeing tag blankets and items. The next blanket I make I am going to do that. Thanks for the inspiration!

Fantastic! Looks great! Glad you finally managed to get it done – I’m sure EC finds it to be well worth the wait. Anya pretty much did the same thing when I made her first one, too. :)

  4. I love your blanket…how cool is that?!? I’m going to have to check out the tutorial that you posted!

It turned out great! What a good idea to have taggies on the blanket. My daughter is 4, and she still latches onto her tiny blanket tags from when she was a baby :)

That’s so cute! I never heard of a taggy blanket before, but I will certainly keep that in mind for the next baby shower I’ll be going to. :)

Cute! I totally need to make a blanket like that for the next time I have a baby.
