I’m late with my photo edits for Dolce.
This looks absolutely nothing like the original.
With fall rapidly approaching in many places I opted for editing out the background and creating my own. Using the magic wand I selected the owl in the center and deleted the leafy background. Adding a couple adjustment levels to bring out the owl a bit more in levels and then using a sharpen action I got it to pop better.
Then I added a brush frame of fall leaves around the outside. Created a new layer and filled it with random coloring and jittering of a leaf brush. Making mutiple layers of this leaf layer I moved it behind the leaf frame selected the frame went back to the background layer inversed the selection and hit delete. That added a bit of leafy look to the frame then I wanted it to be a bit darker so I added a texture too. Thinking the owl looked funny without a tree I inserted a tree branch from another brush preset. I think it came together rather nicely for a bit of fall montage.

I love the umbrella in this second image. I had to edit that out first with the magnetic lasso so I could play with the levels and make it really stand out. Those striped umbrellas remind me so much of rainbows. Thinking about rainbows I edited out the background and added a new texture layer with clouds in it. I also edited out her pink coat and then added several adjustment layers just to the jacket to make the pink pop more. I should have cleaned up more of her hair to make the edit more believable. Playing with all the strands takes too long right now. So this is the short cut version. Check out the original though, it’s quite different.
I have posted links and credit to the several places I found the assortment of brushes, textures, fonts, and tutorials I use.

Very creative edits on both photographs. You have more patience than I do to be able to remove the distracting backgrounds on these images.
Wishing you a scent-sational day!
Patty
These are so neat! I wish that I knew how to do this.
Neat! Yeah, I take out distracting backgrounds at times, too. It helps to focus on the subject better.
Sorry my comment is so late! I absolutely love what you did with both photos. You took a photograph and created art! Thanks for sharing your detailed steps too. Thanks for taking time to play this week. Hope your boys are doing well.

Aww! I love how you added a cloud layer, so it’s kind of cartoony. :] Super cute!
