12 Turkeys

With the Christmas holidays fast approaching you’d think the camera would have snapped up all these pictures of tree decorating and holiday cheer.

Ah no.

Too many pressing concerns have left me a little behind on the holiday cheer.

Back to Thanksgiving I would like to ask if any of you would like to live in the same area as 12 turkeys, 4 peacocks, and a tame doe.

We stayed at Ramsey Cabins in Hereford, AZ. The little cabin had atrocious well water but a well stocked kitchen to prepare the Thankgiving feast with. Picturesque enough amidst the trees at the foot of the mountains, the owner boasted loudly about his menagerie of animals. He told W.W. several times not to chase them.

Who’d want to after counting not one or two but 12 turkeys. All I could hope was not to return when they grew to adults to avoid being flogged!

We had a huge patch of turkeys cross our path last weekend. They are such pretty birds, guess a few got lucky and didn’t become dinner. Do you still have 12 turkeys or only 11 now? lol

The cabin we stayed at was very proud of their 12 turkeys, and having been chased and almost flogged by one, proud is just not what I’d be sharing with that many territorial birds!

Ugh! Hate those terratorial birds. Maybe that is why they got ate LOL!

wow–twelve turkey’s, that’s a lot. Love the picture of the peacock.

  5. Beautiful picture of the peacock. Sounds like a few too many birds to be hanging out with. ;)

I saw the next post first…and I thought “What in the world is that?” until I saw this male peacock. Strange that I wouldn’t recognize it without its feathers.

  8. I bet it made for a memorable Thanksgiving though. What pretty colors ring his neck.
