Bio

Welcome to the thirty-something years of a Mom raising a newborn, a preschooler, a teenager, and one out of the house in the Army. My 2 oldest, who became my own when I married, have survived 6th grade through high school almost unscathed. Now I’m beginning to wonder if those first few years of adulthood after kids move out of the house maybe even harder than the dreaded teen years.

I wandered quite a bit after completing my degree in Women and Gender Studies at DePaul University in Chicago. Moved around from the East Coast to the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest and ended up in the sunny Southwest. Now I’m a graduate student in the Organizational Learning and Instructional Technology program. Like women studies, I often hear, what are you going to do with that degree? Teach others how to construct curriculum for online learning, at least that’s the current thought.

What am I writing about?

  • Traveling in the beautiful Southwest, I find the deserts of the New Mexico absolutely stunning, and anywhere else I happen to have managed to sneak away too.
  • Sharing a little commentary about a more cowboy way of life.
  • My addiction to Photo Shop actions, filters, textures, brushes, and digitally editing my photography and others whenever possible.

I’ll happily pitch myself and say check out my shop for a customizable gift at Southwest Mementos at Zazzle. A lot may go into their pocket but it is a nice way to purchase a unique gift while sharing a little profit with the artist firsthand. Mostly my photography sprinkled with some of my Dad’s work.

I have edited my site after receiving notification from an in law that she found a picture I posted here last November 2009 offensive. The information was just communicated to me March 22, 2010. Over the last 3 years of being part of any kind of online community this is a first. I have gradually reduced the amount of personal information I post during that time turning my site more towards photography, travel, and Photo Shop. As it has never been my intention to offend or post hurtful information about anything or anyone I will maintain a more generic presence here.
