Taggy Blanket

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Ages ago, Stacy posted a tutorial about how to make a taggy blanket.

Ok, maybe it was months ago.

Hmmm, it could have been a year.

I saved the tutorial back before E.C. arrived June 9, 2009. That should tell you something. I bought the fabric and the ribbons with my Mom probably in May.

Last Saturday with the assistance of my Mom, my sewing machine may be set up, but W.W. finds it far more fun to play hide and seek with the needle then allow me time to use it.

We pinned, basted, stitched, ironed, and turned it right side out resulting in an oversized taggy blanket for E.C. Not the best shot, taken with my faithful camera phone, but definitely a moment of accomplishment.

E.C. immediately started sucking on the taggies. With the third tooth almost in I think we managed to get it completed in the nick of time.

5 Months Today

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Five months have flown by. E.C. rolls from his stomach to his back with increasing frequency. The lumps in his mouth have increased in a staggering number. He persistently refuses every pacifer ever created in favor of chewing on the fingers of both hands. He laughs and coos when you tickle his chin, his elbows, and his knees. Startled at all loud noises, he has suddenly developed a fondness for Ian Tyson’s quiet old cowboy songs.

4 month Faces

The photography journey of all infants is never complete with out the tell tale picture of the pouty lip. This look and immediate grumpy cry says feed me now. We still chuckle because it’s just so cute!

Capturing the smile and the laugh bubbling up out of little E.C. grows more difficult with each passing day. The fingers appear glued to the insides of his teething mouth. Smiling around all those little obstacles makes us all laugh right along with him.
