3 Days Gone

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Labor Day came and went leaving behind the refreshing sense of rest. Hard to believe, after cleaning 2 bathrooms, the house, and mopping up 4 year old puke.

However, that’s ok. While sitting atop the propane tank watching W.W. wisk around in first gear on his 4-wheeler my step daughter snapped this shot of E.C.  With a little bit of action adjustment from Pioneer Woman using her fresh and colorful and quick edge burn combined with portrait perfect from CoffeeShop and a little layer adjustment in levels I do believe I have a keeper.

A restless hen has roosted on our property. Behind the air compressor, amidst the clutter of spent motor oil containers hides a nest.  The nagging wife wonders how difficult a trip to recycle the oil really is. Yet feels pleased by this odd spot to find chicken eggs.

W.W. finds endless fascination with them. I caught him transporting the eggs around in his wagon one afternoon. Accidentally breaking one in the transport from nest to wagon. Long talks ensued about what they would hatch into. The hen running anxiously from one side of the horse pen to the other. Waiting on rushed yellow feet for their return.

And yes, I added another green image.
