For this week’s Team Up Thursday how could one not be thinking about love!

My sitter gifted me this lovely heart box. It just begged for a picture. She has her own kiln and an ambitious husband with keen eyes on the look out for useful molds. Hand poured, glazed, and fired several times she does beautiful work. I am thankful for the thought and the gift.

Places I Love

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

I love New Mexico.

Growing up in Virginia, Illinois, Paraguay, later Washington, and more recently New Mexico, I love the desert and the people who touch my heart here.

I never considered in my wildest dreams, my marriage, my children, our home in the valley next to the Rio Grande river. Moving has often been a way of life for me, however, I do love my life here in New Mexico. I treasure it for the memories of all the places visited and the love discovered and grown here.

Staying True

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Tracey talks about staying true today.

I feel her sentiment as my own projects out number the hours in the day. Some begin to encroach on others lately, photography being one I find I have less time to indulge in.

Parked at a light a rainbow brightened my day. Pulling out my Motorola Zine I snapped shots through the windshield. Not professional, not perfect, but a reminder of something I love. Pulling out the color and the hint of the second rainbow in Photo Shop makes me smile.

Of course, I’m egged on by W.W. in the back seat. “Momma take a picture of the rainbow. Take a picture take a picture!”

On the train, staring out at the mountains I witnessed another rainbow on a different day. Stopped at a station I zoomed in from the train car for this shot. I can’t help but smile at all these shots of rainbows through glass.

Feels good to stay true to a love, even if you accomplish just a little bit in a little ways.
