Little Boys and Hikes

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I Heart Faces offered up photojournalism this week for their challenge. Our definition of Photojournalism for the sake of this challenge: Using an image (or images) to tell a story.

Looking through hundreds of pictures what I found interesting turned out to be how many stood alone rather than tell a story.

I suppose a shot of leaving the truck and then returning to the truck from this hike would have book ended this collage nicely.

However, I found W.W.’s interests on the hike told a different story.

The Porch

Friday, April 16th, 2010

After years of discussion about building a front porch, we have once more started a home improvement project. What I failed to understand at the time turned out to be exactly how big the porch would be in reality. Somehow when my husband said it would be in line with the roof I nodded and went ok.

When I stood under the framework and looked up I thought wow, people will see this before they even turn down our road.

Phase one has been completed. With rain showers expected tonight, and the decking just finished yesterday I’m hoping for no warped lumber before the shingles go up.
