You Like Me, Right?

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Horses are social animals.

I’ve often wondered if by keeping studs penned up like many people do, just furthers a bad attitude. The first brood mare farm I visited I distinctly remember the talk about not getting close to any of the studs as they are libel to bite you. After being isolated in a box stall all day long I might bite you too.

As we want ours to be nice and gentle and friendly around people and other horses my husband lets him run with the other geldings. Mouse rules the herd, however he resides in Colorado for the summer with our daughter. So that leaves Cracker.

Ah 30 year old Cracker rules the herd in Mouse’s absence. He’s not likely to let any stud horse come between him and his rightful place.

Hey, we can be friends right?

Well we can be friends if you can catch me.

I guess I’m fine over here.

2 Houses Down

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I’ve been a little remiss in getting my Friday posts up lately. This one is 2 weeks late. However, just a fascinating reminder to how close to home some accidents come though.

Sitting in the living room playing with the kids we heard one of these stop in front of my parent’s house.

A few minutes later the street filled up with 5 more and closed block off at either end. Turns out the house 2 doors down has a fire in their attic area. No one was hurt and the firemen had it out but still, it was a little close for comfort.

I wonder what he found about the fire.

EWW! Grass

Friday, May 21st, 2010

I decided to try out the rounded corner action from Coffeeshop when I pulled these amusing pictures from the camera.

Daddy: Walk to me!

EC: Nope, the legs just gave out.

EC: What am I sitting on!?
