About

Welcome to the thirty-something years of a Mom raising a toddler, a elementary school age child, a teenager about to start college, and one out of the house in the Army. We are a blended family as my two oldest became mine when my husband and I married.

I have wandered quite a bit in my life. Moved around from the East Coast to the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest and ended up in the sunny Southwest. I completed my degree in Women and Gender Studies at DePaul University in Chicago way back in 1999. Now I’m a graduate student in the Organizational Learning and Instructional Technology program with a highly anticipated graduation date of May 2012.

Half way through my Masters I have rediscovered my interest in women studies, especially feminist ideologies and writings in science fiction. I often heard, what are you going to do with a bachelor’s in that? Teach others.

As it feels like the world of online learning and e-courses has launched itself into space a part of me noticed that women jumped on the social media network bandwagon but I’m just not sure where it all is going now. With a degree in OLIT, I want to bring more women studies courses into the online world and see if they interest women as much as the constant networking the internet provides.

I like to share a little of many things happening in my life on this journey.

  • Traveling in the beautiful Southwest, I find the deserts of the New Mexico absolutely stunning and the variety of landscapes here never cease to amaze me.
  • Sharing a little commentary about horses when I find time to visit with ours and photograph my family riding always leads to entertaining tales.
  • I adore my addiction to Photo Shop actions, filters, textures, brushes, and digitally editing along with my photography. So there is some of that here too.
  • Last but not least a few words, pictures and posts about how I am doing in educational journey.

I’ll happily pitch myself and say check out my shop for a customizable gifts at Southwest Mementos at Zazzle. A lot may go into their pocket but it is a nice way to purchase a unique gift while sharing a little profit with the artist firsthand. Mostly my photography and digital renditions but also a few sprinkled shots of my Dad’s photography.
